No electricity is needed. The letters are battery-powered by an external pack using AA batteries (batteries are included). 

Each letter light is approx 6 inches tall of solid Resin, with encased dried pressed flowers and LED fairy lights. The letter molds are approx. 1 3/4" deep and are freestanding, so a wooden light-up base is not required. All lights are made with added greenery, so if not desired, please let me know.
